Here at Firearms Unlimited Shooting Experience, we offer a wide variety of firearm classes and instruction. Whether you have never handled a firearm in your life or are a seasoned shooter there is sure to be a class for you. if one of the classes below interests you, be sure to come down to the store or call us to reserve your spot and check back often for any new classes that are added! RI & MA LTC Class

Class length: 4 hours

Cost: $100

 

students will receive classroom instruction on the fundamentals of concealed carry followed with range time. In the range, students will then have the opportunity to Shoot the Army-L target required for both Rhode Island's LTC as well as MA non-resident LTC applications.

The Army L target is shot at 25 yards with 30 shots in 30 minutes. It should be shot with the largest caliber handgun the applicant wishes to carry as that is posted on the issued permit.

Each student has up to three opportunities to pass during the course. It is a challenging task, so we suggest prior practice and proficiency.

NRA Basic Pistol Class

Class length: 8 hours

This course combines classroom and range time instruction to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Topics covered include the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, range rules, shooting positions, cleaning and maintenance, as well as discussion for continued opportunities for skill development.

This is the perfect class if you have never fired a gun or are a beginning shooter. This course will give you a solid foundation in firearm safety and basic shooting skills which you can build upon in more advanced classes. It is also a prerequisite to becoming an NRA Pistol Instructor.

NRA Personal Protection In The Home

Class length: 8 hours

Cost: $200

 

This class covers basic knowledge, skills, and the attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection in the home. It also provides information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense.

 

Additional topics include basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, as well as continued opportunities for skill development.

For this course, students are required to prove shooting experience. Proof of shooting experience can be one of the following: NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA FIRST Steps Course Certificate, NRA pistol competitive shooting qualification card, or a DD 214 with pistol qualification.

Low Light Pistol

Class length: 4 hours

According to the FBI, a majority of shootings occur in low light conditions. yet a majority of firearms training is conducted with plenty of light. this class is an opportunity to bring your firearms training to the next level.

 

Topics covered include the physiology of vision in reduced light, target identification, shoot and no-shoot situations, gun mounted lights, hand-held flashlights, low-light shooting drills, and more!


Students should have prior shooting experience. This class is limited to ten (10) seats so register early!

Concealed Carry Fundamentals and techniques

This class covers situational awareness, concealed carry firearms considerations and choices. Holster and off body options.

Gain the skills and knowledge necessary to draw handguns from their holster and present it on target. Safely clearing the cover garment and the 4 draw steps will be taught in the classroom then practiced in the range. This class is for current CCW permit holders or those in the process of applying.

Utilizing urban cover and concealment, shooting while moving, and reloading will be drilled dry fire in the classroom then practiced live fire in the range. This is an intermediate class so proficiency with firearms is necessary.

Wheel guns are a classic and practical choice for many people. In this class we will go over consideration of capacity, carry, presentation, and reloading of these firearms. Drawing from the holster and reloading will be practiced dry fire in the classroom and then live fire in the range.

Class length: 6 hours

This is An intermediate level course to introduce shooting, moving, and communication skills. Theory and principals of shooting as well as moving utilizing cover and concealment. This class will also cover the Basics to surviving a deadly threat situation while working as a team or with a partner. A great class to attend with a spouse, sibling, or buddy.

This is An advanced level course that will cover shooting, moving, and communication skills. Additional topics include Shooting and moving utilizing cover and concealment, Emergency egress and close quarters shooting techniques, and Surviving a deadly threat situation while working as a team or with a partner. This is A perfect class to attend with a spouse, sibling or buddy.

Static shooting at paper is fine for the range but simply not enough to practice for a real self-defense situation. This class will introduce you to getting off the X. Topics include Safe techniques of target engagement form the front, sides, and rear, Shooting while moving to cover, and some of the Myths and realities of engagement.

This class is excellent for all defensive handgun owners and is an intermediate level course.

Night Vision operator (equipment rental optional)

Night vision equipment provides a superior advantage during nighttime engagements. This course is a combination of classroom and range training. In the class we will cover Night vision science, image intensification vs. thermal vision, night vision optic anatomy, as well as proper mounting & operation.

 

In the range we will practice Moving and navigating with night vision, Static shooting from different positions utilizing IR devices and red dot optics, total darkness bolt lock & tactical reloads, total darkness malfunction drills, total darkness barricade & bilateral shooting, total darkness target to target transitions, as well as total darkness rifle to pistol transitions.
